Overview
After presenting Newell with a framework for building multiple brands, websites and mobile applications on a single backend / CMS system, our first effort was a web & mobile solution for Coleman. A companion application to utilize during camping excursions, find campgrounds and locations in association with Recreation.gov as well as facilitate the planning process.

What we did.
Overall
Lead UX & UI / Visual designer, working in discovery sessions with the client, creating IA, UI, wireframes and visual design. I created prototypes facilitating user tests, and gaining executive stakeholder buy-in. Final steps including a programming guide for the client and specifications for the development team.
Project timeline was about 6 months for the initial phase mobile application launch, with followup testing and a secondary phase launching a few months later. Additional responsive sites were scoped and designed utilizing the same CMS / backend system.

Outcomes and Lessons
After a few restarts and spending days in workshop mode, the team finally aligned on the objectives, the phase one and two feature sets and best use of the wealth of knowledge Coleman had. Those restarts ensured success at the end of the project, avoiding wasted development time and realistic timelines and goals. The app continues to have high ratings in the app store with positive reviews.
